Our flying 2 day business trip to HongKong was full of fun. The first day of the expo was for B2B clients. We could strike up business partnerships, learn from other’s marketing campaigns and find out about many other travel destinations.
Erina and I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing each booth. My top three were Macao, Hong Kong and Gimje in South Korea. Many booths incorporated interesting tactics to gain traction and public interest.
Insta worthy photo spots could increase the publicity of your instagram page with participates enchaining a tag on their page for a free gift. I received a high-quality flower magnetic pin badge.
An instagram follow could be swapped for a chance to spin a Tombola drum. With a white ball I won a small sheep figurine and a file. The line for this game trailed past our booth a few times!
South Korea’s huge booth asked visitors to complete an “easy” quiz, (I had to be fed each answer). After completing the quiz you could play a crane game and the colour of ball you caught represented your prize. I won a beautiful hard back note book!
Gimje in South Korea was my ultimate favourite though as they connected with my heart’s passion of postcard sending. They offered for you to choose your postcard from a range of beautiful scenes, write and post it into their yellow postbox. They then promised to take them back to South Korea and send them from there. (It hasn’t arrived yet, but I have Faith!)
Other booths included large 3D printed puzzles of their area’s map, fishing for a toy, dancers, cultural costumes, performers and a Korean-style Photo Booth! It really was impressive, enjoyable and idea inspiring. We are looking forward to incorporating many of these ideas to promote Hakuba Inn Bloom.
