Getting to Hakuba from Haneda Airport
There are several ways to travel from Haneda Airport to Hakuba. Below are the main options, along with approximate travel times and costs.
1. Private Chartered Taxi
The most comfortable and stress-free way is to book a private chartered taxi or van. Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you straight to your accommodation in Hakuba, no transfers, no luggage hassle, no waiting for other passengers.
- Travel time: about 4.5 hours
- Cost: from ¥79,000 per vehicle (5–9 passengers)
- Per person: roughly the same as the train or bus, but with door-to-door convenience
If your group is large, this option often makes the most sense. Uber has also recently started offering rides to Hakuba directly from Haneda.

2. Train + Bullet Train + Bus

- Cost: around ¥10,170
Route:
- From Haneda, take the Keikyu Airport Line to Shinagawa Station, then transfer to the Yamanote Line to Tokyo Station. (Or take a taxi directly to Tokyo Station.)
- At Tokyo Station, board the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Nagano Station. Tickets can be reserved online via JR East or Rakuten Travel.
- From Nagano, either take a bus to Hakuba or arrange a local taxi.
3. Direct Bus
If your flight lines up with a departure, the direct bus from Haneda to Hakuba is both affordable and straightforward.
- Travel time: 4–5 hours
- Cost: ¥11,000–¥13,750
- Children under 4: free (no seat provided)

For larger groups, booking a private bus is another option. It will wait if your flight is delayed and take you directly to your hotel in Hakuba.

5. Car Rental
If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car at Haneda and make the 4-hour trip to Hakuba yourself.

- Tolls: approx. ¥4,970 one way
