The Tastiest crêpe in Hakuba

お知らせ

We sampled the earliest opening cafe and crêperie in Hakuba. Opening at 6am! Crêperie Garage has the earliest of risers covered.

The menu is handwritten in a sketch book in Japanese, so bring your google translate app with you.

Starting with the healthy option, we ordered the コンプレット(complete) Hakuba ham, Gruyère cheese mix and an egg. Gruyère cheese is classified as a Swiss-type or Alpine cheese and is sweet but slightly salty. Another star ingredient in Crêperie Garage’s galette is the buck wheat flour creating a delicious savoury snack.

For the sweet course we chose vanilla sugar and lemon. Lemon and sugar is my all time favourite classic Crêpe. However, this Crêpe took my classical to a whole new level. The 2 flavours of sugar and vanilla mixed excellently, with flakes of vanilla bean visibly mixed into the sugar. Topped with cool butter which melted over time added an extra sweetness and soft texture.

Crêperie Garage has become a staple on my days off and I hope you venture out to visit yourself. You won’t regret it. Open from 6am to Noon. In the evening it transform into a Craft beer bar. I’ll review that soon too.
